Bikes.. for EVERYONE!

As we know Boris Johnson likes bikes. He likes them that much that he wants everyone else to like them and that's why he's started Boris Bikes!

The Boris bikes will be available to everyone in London as of a week on Friday. (December 3rd 2010). There will be "docking stations" placed around the city, (340 in total), where the bikes will be placed. If you wish to use a bike you pay by card, Visa or MasterCard, and you can "rent" a bike from a day, up to 7 days.

I think there's also some online thing you can become a member of and if you so wish you can purchase an annual subscription. The bikes are FREE for the first 30 minutes and £1 for the next half an hour.

Sod that, now I have my new bike I could cycle to London, then use my own bike

In seriousness though, York city council came up with this idea yonks ago, they let people rent a bike to cycle in York, and at the end if the month you have the opportunity to buy it on the cheap

Aye, this has been around for a while. They have it in Turkey also.
