Initially, the 3G was meant to have a 2nd gen tag - but people assumed the 3G meant "Third Generation" whereas it was meant merely in the sense of "3G Mobile internet". So under that assumption the previous models of the iPhone [The 1G and the 1G remake] had been popularly known as 1G and 2G, merely for continuity reasons :thumbs
But accurately, or pedantically, it goes from 1G to 3G but hey.
btw, the iMac review is being started now, should be done in 2 or so hours
