5% of the amount of benefits has been cut.
Too many public sector jobs are to be slashed (half a million or thereabouts).
The pension age of men and women is going up to 66 in the year 2020.
Spending will be cut for the police by 4% per year over the next 3 years, and spending by the home office and Ministry of Justice are going to be cut 6% per year until at least 2013.
The Department for Energy and Climate Change will lose 5% of its funding for the next 5 years.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' is cut by 8% a year.
Department of Culture, Media and Sport will drop to £1.1bn by 2014-15 from £2bn.
People who travel by train hikes in fares from 2012, rising by 3% per year.
Although there is some good news... Nana's going to be fine:
"Free eye tests; free prescription charges; free bus passes; free TV licenses for the over 75s; and Winter Fuel Payments will remain exactly as budgeted" Says the new chancellor George Osbourne. He also confirmed that spending on health would be ring-fenced and overseas aid would be protected. (What a hero)...
