Google releases in-picture analytics

Today, Google released a new tool for their very popular website analytics software, Google Analytics, the software allows web masters to monitor and understand visitor behaviour to and with in their site.

The new tool called In-Page Anyalytics is available from your Google Dashboard, it's located under "Content" on the left hand side. What this tool does is display various information within an iframe over your actual website, giving webmasters like myself a better understanding of what people are clicking on and what parts of a page are being used more often than others.

Admittedly, it's not as useful as it could be on a forum, it'd be more so on a shopping website. The tool gives you a visual image of what's clicked and the percentages, so that you can determine what products are being navigated. On top of this you can also add filters to make information more useful, such as to add filters based on activity from users from specified referring sites.

Google Analytics is a free service offered by Google.
