VLC on Android (soon)
After being released on the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad, VLC is about to hit the Android Market.
According to Jean-Baptiste Kempf, (the lead developer in the project), the highly popular and my personal favourite media player will be available for the Android powered devices in “just a few weeks.”
Apparently, VLC for Android was made possible through various improvements found in the Gingerbread NDK.
Be warned: The first release will be beta and it won’t work on all Android devices and unfortunately won’t support all of the codecs unlike on your computer.
As we know, VLC is open source so fingers crossed for goodness.
