Anyone remember the Sinclair C5?

Na, didn't think so, basically it was a recumbent tricycle (Yes, this is sounding like one of my bikes) with an electric motor, kind of like the electric bikes of today but 25 years ago :p

Anyway, they've now released the X1, complete with a rollcage and a canopy to keep you dry. There are two mechanical disc brakes to stop you when you need to stop (not 100 Yards down the road like with V brakes) and a fixed gear electric pancake motor (means it's flat) and built in front and rear lights.

The only problem I can see is that it's £600 which for a bike is a bit on the expensive side (though for an electric bike it's not THAT much), and seeing as you need no license, tax or insurance* to ride it it's a decent alternative to a moped.

But what do you reckon?

You can tell the age of that thing by the guys' haircut. :tongue

How fast does that beauty go?

No listed top speed yet, but a 190W motor should manage 12mph easily (before hacking comes into it of course)
