Oh the 2600 whistle.. the forefather of the black box. And yes you could have saved money in the golden age of phreaking, but I really hate the geek in the movie the Core making a reference to it. To think that homely dude was a jeans model.

Indeed, the captain crunch whistle, and that picture you quoted is actually the man himself (Captain crunch, or John Draper as his real name), you knew this ofcourse. It's just a very fitting picture. I was happy with my choice of picture and fitting words beneath it.
