portfolio website - windows 7 was my idea - 30-09-2011 Hey guys im wanting to set up my own portfolio site so i can show off my graphics/irl other stuff and things like that. Anyone know of a good place to get free templates? Or anyone want to suggest me a template? Also is it hard to put in the information and what not? I set up a forum before and it seems easy enough but i still get kinda lost some times when using file zilla. Thanks RE: portfolio website - Drumm - 01-10-2011 If you want to show off your skills, build it from scratch. RE: portfolio website - latch - 01-10-2011 Any wysiwyg html editor will help you along. Heck, you can make websites with Word if you want. RE: portfolio website - windows 7 was my idea - 01-10-2011 i want a professional looking one i can't do that my self yet, i'd like to learn but its hard for me to learn shit on my own i can never concentrate or stayed motoviated lol. I looked on wordpress but the good ones are pricey and i don't want to pay : / RE: portfolio website - latch - 01-10-2011 The point is for you to poke around with various editing tools to familiarize yourself with how webpages are structured- What html looks like and what it does. Are you on windows? RE: portfolio website - windows 7 was my idea - 01-10-2011 Yeah im on windows 7. I found a guy that gives these templates out for free http://www.dreamtemplate.com/ RE: portfolio website - Mark - 01-10-2011 I've used templates in the past, I find one with a structure that I like then fill it with my own graphics and contents, I normally cut side colums and the like out as well. Are you after HTML templates or wordpress templates? Places like http://www.templateyes.com/html-templates.htm and http://www.freewebsitetemplates.com/ can be used to get free HTML templates. I came across this while I was looking as well. I like it. For a design site you want some a bit different, something that'll stand out and show your work off. RE: portfolio website - God - 01-10-2011 I could try and help you make one also i sell domains for $1 RE: portfolio website - windows 7 was my idea - 01-10-2011 Its gonna take alot of work but i need to find a new hobby anyways, i want to learn how to create websites and shit on my own because i kind of want to do that as an on the side job from whatever else i do. Thanks for the help guys RE: portfolio website - Drumm - 01-10-2011 If you are learning, maybe you could post what you learn as you go along Some of us round here aren't too bad with web languages and could give you a hand. |
